on a new host

those of you visiting more often might have noticed my site outage over the past week, particularly with my blog being down for the most part. the reason was a particularly stupid move to change to a new host without first downloading my files off the old server. so when the admin (who was somewhat disgruntled about letting me go, since i might be one of the fewer clients of his budget host—i had to literally e-mail bomb him and harrass him about changing a number of settings for me) changed me over to my new host, i realised to my complete embarrassment that i’d have to ask him to give me access to my old files again.

… not so smart.

i had a relatively frustrating week with work, not so much because it was heavy, but because it demanded organisation, meticulousness and a certain level of fastidiousness that was just beyond me. the irony was that the task of tallying scores in a survey was smaller than it would’ve been for me had i been at this job last year, but because i re-did the tallying four times in a muddleheaded fumbling about in the dark, i ended up tearing out my hair.

oh, and i sprained my jaw too. apparently i’ve been tense, according to my doctor, who said that i have a lot of built-up frustration in my neck and jaw area, causing me to grind my teeth at night. several mornings ago, i woke up with a stiff jaw, opened my mouth and pop—there you go. it’s not a big deal, only that it’s highlighting how often i clench my teeth when i think (since it hurts when i do now), because having not encountered any need to clench them most of my life, i was clenching a surprising number of times whilst tallying the survey.

there was a reason i gave up economics, mathematics, and all those subjects requiring numbers, graphs, and survey-score tallying.

i went to the world cyber games finals held at suntec city here in singapore. it was really fun—even if i didn’t quite understand all the games. pictures from my phone up on monday.
