Jaywalk Today!
I’m going to miss Arirang TV, which is, to my knowledge, South Korea’s English TV Channel export. I don’t remember watching it when I was on holiday there, but I catch it occasionally when I’m in another country. Or even at home. Before I visited S. Korea, I thought everybody there spoke English as a first language with an American accent. When I visited it, I realised I was wrong—which, if nothing else, goes to show the effectiveness of Arirang’s power of “bringing the Korea to the world”.
In Vietnam, it proved to be one of the more interesting channels, because it delivered light (with the emphasis on light) documentaries with slow, thoughtful narration. While enjoyable, I do wonder about the factual accuracy of all of its programmes. I had to rush to jot this down on paper, but during a video introduction to Kuala Lumpur, the narrator said, chirpily:
“People in KL cross the street by jaywalking. Don’t miss out on the fun! Go to KL and jaywalk with the locals, too!”
On a nice note, Hu Yoshida mentioned me in his blog. Unsurprisingly, I’m thrilled.

That is the ultimate in complimentary, dude! I’m so happy for you! On another note, i must thank you for that link to his blog, cos i’m currently working on a private healthcare asia event, and i’ve invited Ee Choon Huang to speak after reading about the work he’s done around health IT with SingHealth. How cool is that?
Cheers mon cherie!
Haha! You’re kidding. That’s great…The wonders of the Internet, huh. I have someone from the Parkway Group of hospitals, if you want, too. Drop me a mail at me@vickiho.com if you need. :)

Jody,
That is EXACTLY what I said to Angel a few weeks back, it is bloody frightening I tell you! Bloody frightening, but also more than a little “smirk-inducing”. I mean, this is what we used to imagine would happen to us, and now it has!
So exciting. We’re not wee ones anymore!
Vic, will take you up on offer, emailing you right now. You’re a doll!
