Stumbling Towards Grace

Dear Full-Stop,

It was good running into you tonight. Though brief and a little surprising, it was nice. Really nice.

Once, I abruptly erased you from my life, for reasons I cannot begin to explain. I would, however, do it all over again if placed there, in that space, once more. But like many of my past memories, I wish I had applied more grace at the end. Looking at where we are today, I know you wouldn’t disagree it made sense, cosmically. If only I had…But grace—oh, for grace.

I no longer have your number because I lost my phone two months ago without a working backup (thank you, Nokiaandyourrubbishproprietarysoftware) and I daren’t ask the people who pressed me, in my perpetual weakness, away from you.

Regressing to this virtual way of knowing and yet not really knowing each other isn’t half bad, anyway. At least I know you’re flying high, as always. And then, there’s the offchance we’ll run into each other again. Which, as I said earlier, is always nice.

Really nice.
