Perhaps the Calm Before the Storm
Hello blog, how I’ve missed you. I’ve neglected this space partly because I’ve been trying to do all those things I said I’d set out to, and also partly because I’ve been too fearful to have an online presence in light of um, recent events (which have made me fearful to have any presence at all, for that matter).
I know I mentioned playing soon in a gig—which I just found out today may not be a one-off thing, but a regular weekly affair—but that hasn’t happened yet, mainly because recent rehearsals have uncovered how completely unprepared we are for the engagement. But I hope it happens in two weeks. Fingers crossed.
In other news, life is looking up. Funny how these things happen, really. But a surprising turn of events in my favour (or otherwise, since it’s very possible to see it negatively, actually) have turned the last week into a giddy whirl. But fear not, for part of my faculties are still in order, and I shall try and lean on that. (Do you smell disaster coming or what, huh?)
Regardless, it may turn out to be quite a nice birthday this year, which I didn’t think would happen in my self-absorbed wallowing. Old friends are being reconnected with and new friends have also come along, whom I’ve grown very fond of in such a short time, and so, as I said…Life is definitely looking up.

lunch. u and me. soon.
YAY FOR FRIENDS!!!!!!!
that mysterious turn of events does sounds equally exciting as well as ominous..
Well better to trust in the good then worry in the bad.
Very happy for you Vicki and here’s hoping it turns out the way you want it to be.
Oh and did you say birthday? and when is this special event? :)
