A quarter of a century and perhaps a little wiser. Just a little—but where it counts, for a change.
…Anyway! Unfortunately, this year’s birthday will see me on a plane on the way to Miami for work. I realise how nice this sounds in concept, but a) a conference in a hotel is a conference in a hotel in any location in the world you pick and b) this day will be marked by being seated in a cramped chair staring intently into a tiny screen.
But you know, the past few days leading up to today were really nice. Thank you to those who made it right. :)
Just after I got assigned the Miami trip, another invite came through: from Microsoft to visit LA.
Jody lives in LA. And she wanted my boss to know:

Happy Birthday! man these things swing by fast don’t they? I remember commenting well wishes on your last birthday on this blog like it was just last year. Glad you had a good run up to it this year at least.
Hotel conferences = every other hotel conference but its the location of said hotel that should be the focus :) I get excited for you whenever I hear you going someplace new, but I guess you might be jaded about traveling by now.

Haha, yes I am somewhat. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I hate the destinations—I just hate the travelling and the same old rushed itineraries.

Can you make a detour from Miami to Boston on your way back to Singapore? Are you going via New York from Miami?

Hahaha no I’m going via San Fran. And on the way here I came via LA. Crazy flights, and it amounted to almost 28 hours of travel. Faint.
